Sunset in my Side View Mirrors

posted by FH2o

I was driving home just now in a slight drizzle with the sun setting behind me and Mike & The Mechanics playing Over My Shoulder on my CD. And looking back over my shoulder I glanced at the side view mirror and noticed the brilliance of the sunset behind me. As the traffic slowed, I took these few grab shots of the vanishing magical moments.

It pays to look back sometimes doesn’t it? To ponder and reflect the remains of the day and the course of week of our life. Have we learned anything? Made a difference in someone’s life or touched someone? Have we worked hard? Played hard? Has anything inspired or moved us? Are we living our dreams? Or is it just another repeated day left over from yesterday. I would hope not.

Look at the brilliance of this Friday sunset and do ponder but please don't try this at home! -I mean taking photos of your sideview mirrors in a moving car. Have a great weekend folks! Be Safe!

I saw the same thing the same way when driving home this evening.

Whenever I see a pretty sky, I think of you and your cloud photos. ;-)
"It pays to look back sometimes - to ponder and reflect the remains of the day and the course of week of our life" Very meaningful words!

It is always good to be mindful of what is happening around us, as well as inside us. A lot of times we tend to look outward to what is happening outside, and forget what is happening to ourselves. By reflection, we are letting ourselves to be aware of our position as well as direction in life.

As Soren Kierkegaard said, "Life is to be understood backwards and lived forwards."

Thank you very much for sharing this beautiful words, and these beautiful photos.
gette - that's nice! TQ! always nice to be associated with pretty things; especially pretty clouds! ;)

YD - so glad that u like this post. Thks for sharing Soren Kierkegaard's profound words with us here! :)
I dunno. I think I'd find it depressing to look back and find that what I've left behind has become even more beautiful while what's ahead of me is just getting darker.

It would be very tempting for me to say, "Aw, screw it," turn off on a random side road, and leave my path in life completely.
hmm.. our eyes are in front of our head.. thus we look forward..

we have two ears and one mouth, which is why we should listen more and talk less.

hmm.. dangerous habits .. die hard.. ironically, be safe was then ending msg..

yes, have a wonderful weekend, without the birdy disturbing..
moody - that's a moody comment! ;)

robin - trust u'd a wonderful weekend too! :)
